I am the turn...

Ode to mom
My mom is freakin superwoman man. I really don't know where she gets all of her strength. I could really learn a thing or 100 from her, as could a lot of people I think. It really inspires me to work harder and be stronger, and at the same time makes me feel guilty for all the complaining I do, all the attitude I give her(only sometimes though, he he he), and just everything else that's not cool. Last night, she worked 16 hours at work. I don't know many people that can work shifts like that. I remember before pop had the stroke, she would do it all the time. But now, she occasionally does that, AND still does everything like taking pop to the doctor, watch London and cook and stuff. She really is an amazing woman. And she deserves the best. I used to get mad at her when she'd complain about being tired, or when she complains about not wanting to drive somewhere(btw, if you didn't know, my mom cannot drive on the freeway, it's a personal thing for her. So anything that's far, like family stuff, the only way we can go is if I drive. Sometimes pop can drive, but only in the daytime and not over long distances.). It shouldn't matter that she doesn't drive far, I should want to do it for her anyway, after all she's done for me. On mother's day, I'm taking her out to see "Mama Mia" with pop and CIc and her folks too...it's gonna be cool. But I also hope that she knows how much her hard work is appreciated by the stuff I do for her. But in reality, all that I will do will not even amount to a smidgen of all that she's done...what a woman.

Step One
You know, with all the recent talk about America being so obese and our children on the bad track and stuff, and cutting out sodas out of our children's diets, dadadadada, it seems as though we've failed to realize that our eating habits starts with ourselves. I mean, yeah, I agree with cutting it out of the kids diets..because of course they'd choose what tasted good over what was good for them, and if the option's not there, then it won't even cross their minds. But that's not what I wanted to talk about. I wanted to talk about the adults, on the bad track. I believe the main reason we are getting fatter and fatter is because we choose not to listen. I mean, it's always like food is this, and they should make light whatever, and not so many carbs, blah blah blah. The blame goes to restaurants who make greasy food or something. Well hello, if it's bad for you, then don't eat it. Look at smoking, the warning is RIGHT THERE on the box, can cause lung cancer, dadadada. I bet even if you put on food claims like, "Will make you fat," or "Will give you a heart attack," on food, we'd STILL be buying it in bulk from costco. We're hard-headed and no gov't warning or news article is gonna change that. So people, get off your fat arses and quit sittin around so much! Looks like we aren't the adults we thought we were. We have to have someone else take away our options, because we can't choose not to have them for ourselves.

Man shall not live by bread alone...
One of our coworkers told us the craziest thing today, he hates bread. Seriously can't stand it. If he saw bread crumbs fall on his food and even though he couldn't see them, he wouldn't be able to eat it anymore. We were all trying to find out what he considered bread and what not...so here was the "OK" list: Croutons, crackers, cookies, stuff like that. What he didn't like was loaves...no sandwiches, burgers, etc. Crazy. I can't believe he hates bread!!!

You know you're living in 2004 when...
You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years...
